Colquitt man scratches his way to wealth

September 27, 2007

Colquitt-- A electrician in Colquitt, Georgia is one million dollars richer.   Thirty-four year-old Tony Richardson was handed his enormous check Thursday afternoon.

He won the prize on a $10 Gold Rush scratch-off ticket. Richardson said he bought the winning ticket at a store in Statesboro.    "I had to get the guy driving the truck to verify it for me.  My supervisor was in the truck in front of us, he had to pull over and look at it. I couldn't believe it," said Richardson.

He and his wife have three kids and they'll use the money to buy a house and pay for college.
