Valdosta - A South Georgia college is making sure students are heading back to class with the right supplies.

The students, faculty and staff at Georgia Military College in Valdosta collected nearly 13 hundred notebooks, pens, crayons, backpacks and other school supplies.

Today, they delivered all the items to the students of Southeast and Dewar Elementary.  "School supplies are always needed. There are many many families who do not get the adequate school supplies. Children will use them throughout the year so it's a very easy, cost affective fundraiser to do," says GMC student Bobbi Rivera.

This is an annual fundraiser for the college.

They will now begin collecting food for the food bank.
