Albany --  A man says he was hit on the head with a shotgun during an attempted robbery in northwest Albany early Thursday.

Twenty-seven-year old Cortez Fields told police a man in dark clothes approached him behind his duplex on Partridge Drive. He said a second man armed with a shotgun demanded money and hit him with the butt of the gun.

Fields says his dog frightened the men off before they could take anything.
