Third Friday begins tomorrow

September 20, 2007

Valdosta - Businesses in Downtown Valdosta will showcase local bands and artists through a new gathering called Art After Dark.

Art After Dark will be similar to the first Friday festivities.

It will take place Friday in Downtown Valdosta.

The city is encouraging artists of any kind to come out and showcase their talents, hoping it will become a popular event to take place the third Friday of every month.  "We eventually hope it will be artists who just want to come down and start sketching on the sidewalks or someone who wants to set up an eisle and paint, street performers and we'd love to incorporate all the different visual performing arts," says Zachary Hatcher, one of the event coordinators.

Festivities will begin 6:30 Friday evening.
