Meigs --  A small business owner and investigators are asking for your help locating an armed robber.

Meigs Grocery, a small Thomas County convenience store was the target of a masked with a small handgun almost two weeks ago. Investigators still have not been able to identify the man who forced the manager to open the register and give him $2,600.

"It's a small town in the middle of several cities," said Inv. David Godwin of the Thomas County Sheriff's Office. "So you've got a lot of traffic coming from other cities. And now they're shorthanded at the police department. It's hard for one officer on a Friday or Saturday night to answer calls and be everywhere patrolling like they need to."

But investigators are hoping you can help by watching the surveillance tape we'll have posted here later this evening. [Please check back.]

If you recognized the man, or perhaps his clothing, call the Thomas County Sheriffs department. The store manager is offering a $1,000 reward for information.
