Albany --  A motorcyclist is under going surgery today after police say a drunk driver hit him head on, and that driver had a child in her truck.

Police say 52-year-old Sherry Adams turned her Dodge Dakota in front of Stacy Cook's motorcycle, just before 6:30 Tuesday evening at the intersection of Slappey Boulevard and Cedar Avenue.

Adams was given a field sobriety test then led away in handcuffs. She was taken to the Dougherty County jail, and charged with DUI, endangering the life of a child, and failure to yield.

Today, Cook's family members say that he has a fractured pelvis, broken leg, and a broken thumb. He is having surgery at Phoebe Putney about noon.
