Albany -- Another burglary in downtown Albany - this time at the former Hubbles Restaurant.

Thieves stole copper wire and metal from a fire escape on the building on North Washington Street.

A new restaurant is scheduled to open there soon and renovation work is being done. The copper wire was left on a fire escape behind some A/C units, but thieves found it.

The new restaurant managers say the theft could delay their opening, and noted the irony that the thefts occurred the same night a meeting was held a few blocks away to talk about downtown crime.
