Albany --   Arson Investigators say a fire that burned a home in Central Albany Thursday morning was arson.  The fire started in the house in the 600 block of West Third Avenue around 9:30.

The house is divided into three apartments, and Investigators say the fire started in the middle unit. Another tenant heard someone in that apartment, and then smelled smoke. When he went to investigate, he saw flames shooting through the front windows, and called 911.

"Good thing that we did have one of the tenants at home whenever this happened," said Home owner Jack Stone, Jr. "Probably had not been for him the house would have burned to the ground."

Stone says all three of the tenants will be displaced because of the fire and smoke damage, and all three have found other housing.

Investigators have some leads about who burned the house.
