Blazers correcting mistakes during bye week

September 13, 2007

Valdosta - With so many starters returning everyone knew Valdosta State would be good this year.

But after two games the Blazers haven't looked good.

They have beenscary good if you are an opponent on their schedule.

The 4th ranked Blazers enjoying a bye week before they begin Gulf South Conference play next weekend.

VSU head coach David Dean says the two lopsided wins over Albany State and Fort Valley Stave have not gone to the heads of his players.

The coach says his 4th ranked Blazers understand the season starts for real next week at Arkansas Tech.

David Dean said "The big thing for us is to just stay hungry. We have got to play hungry like we did against Albany State and also Fort Valley."

Valdosta State will enjoy a weekend off before the Blazers open Gulf South Conference play on September 22nd at Arkansas Tech.

The game was originally scheduled for a Thursday night game but has been moved to Saturday September 22nd.

The game will start at 4:00 p.m. eastern and will be televised on the Gulf South Conference's television package.
