Wildcats take unbeaten record on the road

September 12, 2007

Valdosta - After posting just one win last season, everyone in Valdosta knew the Wildcats would bounce back this season.

That has been the case through the first two games.

Rick Tomberlin's Wildcats have started this season 2-0 after last week's shutout of Collins Hill.

To get a third straight win, the Cats will hit the road for a trip to Gwinnett County to play a Brookwood team that so far has had the kind of luck that Valdosta had last year.

The Broncos have lost their first two games to number one ranked Roswell and to seventh ranked North Gwinnett.

And those close losses worry Rick Tomberlin more than the hostile enviroment his team will face Friday night in Snellville.

Tomberlin said "I have never seen a fan score a point or make tackle. So, we just have to go.  It is 11 on 11. It is like pop always said 'They can only put 11 players on the field at one time and none of them can be over 19 years old. So, let's go play'."

Valdosta High and Brookwood will kick off at 8:00 p.m. Friday night in Snellville.
