Leesburg -- The Lee County football team isn't catching any breaks with its non-region schedule.
After opening up the season against Westover, the Trojans (1-1) played defending region champion Monroe last week.
It doesn't get any easier Friday night, as Lee County hosts Region 1-AAAAA member Colquitt County.
While the Packers are 0-2, they've played two ranked teams in Cook and Thomas County Central.
Trojans head coach David Johnson says the tough competition early in the year should set his team up well for region play.
"We're playing some pretty talented teams," says Johnson, "and any time you're playing someone with better talent, and the game is strong, that's going to help you down the road when the games get close and get tough."
The Trojans and the Packers kick off Friday at 7:30 pm in Leesburg.
