Lee County--  Another new Lee County business will open its doors soon.  It's one that brought about a change to an alcohol ordinance.

Construction continues on the new Chili's Restaurant on Ledo Road. Originally it was scheduled to open by this month. Lee County Economic Development leaders now say opening day may not come until October.

They expect it to pump up to $85,000 a year into the Lee County economy and lead to other development.

"Restaurants are known to cluster together and you've already got a cluster of restaurants beginning out there with the Mellow Mushroom, The International House of Pancakes. They're planning on opening in February of next year so we have three restaurants for sure there which should spark more to come," said Winston Oxford.

In two weeks, Lee County commissioners are set to approve an alcohol license for Chili's. In February, they reduced the distance restaurants that serve alcohol must be from churches and schools. Chili's was too close to Byne Memorial under the old rules.
