Cairo-- The Georgia Supreme court heard arguments today on the sentence given to a Grady County rapist.

Rodolfo Lopez pleaded guilty to rape and aggravated sodomy in 2005 of his then 7-year-old step-daughter. He was sentenced to life without parole, but an appeals court threw out the sentence, saying it was improper.

District Attorney Joe Mulholland argued before the state's highest court today to have it reinstated. The justices haven't indicated when they'll rule.
