Athens -- Brandon Coutu connects on 4 of 5 field goals, and that's all the offense Georgia would get, as they fall at home to South Carolina 16-12.
The Bulldogs came into the match-up ranked 11th in the nation, but Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier says it wasn't an upset.
"This wasn't a shock now," says Spurrier. "We came in here thinking we matched up with Georgia pretty good. We thought we could play defense like we did tonight. We really thought we could last week, but we didn't do it. This was not a shock to us to win this game."
Quarterback Matthew Stafford says, "I liked every call we had coming into today. We just didn't execute, and I gotta hit people."
Head coach Mark Richt adds, "I knew going into the season we were a young team. I felt as the season went on we would get better and better. I made a comment early I hope we play well enough to keep us in contention, for when we hit out stride, because I think we will."
Georgia will look to rebound next week as they host Western Kentucky.
