Albany -- The Albany State football team bounced back from the loss at Valdosta State last week to beat Kentucky State 24-6 Saturday night.

The Rams improved on their rushing offense and red zone opportunities from a week ago, racking up 218 yards on the ground and scoring 2 of 3 times they were inside the 20.

Gary Neavins and Demetrice Johnson each carried the ball five times for 62 yards for ASU, with Johnson scoring on a 55 yard run.

Kentucky State quarterback Michael Woods threw three interceptions in the game, and also lost a fumble.

Albany State will visit Stillman College next week.
