"Friday on the Flint" offers fun for all

September 7, 2007

Albany -- Downtown Albany was hopping Friday night during the first ever Fridays on the Flint celebration.

Many families came out to Broad Avenue to enjoy live music. Vendors sold arts and crafts and some businesses stayed open late and offered sales.

One of the appeals of the event is that there's something for everyone.

"I really think its fun for everybody because they have the Wildcats mascot if you are a football fan," said Emily DuVall. "They have little kids activities too, and also have stuff for the adults that is fun."

City leaders and merchants hope this event will bring more people downtown. Fridays on the Flint will be held on the First Friday of every month.
