Albany -- An Albany man faces federal charges for manufacturing marijuana. Authorities got a tip that 35-year-old Matthew Brimberry was growing marijuana in Baconton.

When they took a helicopter over the area they spotted 23 marijuana plants growing. With a search warrant, drug agents found seven more plants drying out and two guns in a trailer on the property, that Brimberry had once lived in.

Brimberry turned himself in to the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office this week.

The on-going investigation is now being handled by the U.S. Attorney's office.
