Albany - Saturday's Albany State Valdosta State game was delayed in the first half due to lightning.
For the Rams, the lightning struck when the game resumed and Valdosta State scored 17 points to take a commanding halftime lead.
The Rams fortunes didn't get any better in the second half as the Blazers won by 38 points.
The lopsided score hurts the Rams just as much as the fact they are now 1-10 against the Blazers in regular season games.
The defeat though will likely have Albany State ready for an even bigger game this week in their conference opener against Kentucky State.
Mike White said "We have got to put it behind us. We know we have a tough game coming up . That is just the way it is. We have got to bounce back."
Albany State fell out of the AFCA DII football poll this week.
The Rams game with Kentucky State starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Albany Municipal Coliseum.
