Cavaliers cross-country off to a great start

September 4, 2007

Albany - The Darton College cross-country teams are off and running with a stellar showing in their first ever meet over the weekend.

The Darton women won the Truett-McConnell Invitatational Saturday in Cleveland.

Brittany Skiles and Tabitha Payne finished first and second with Skiles setting a course record.

The Darton men finishing second in the Truett-McConnell meet with former Westover star David Marley also setting a course record.

Head coach David Mann says the goal for this year's team is to win the region title in their first ever season.

Something that is now realistic after their very first meet.

David Mann said "They have set goals and they are doing what they need to do to get there. I think they will be successful."

Darton cross-country teams will be in action this weekend at the Mercer-Atlanta meet.
