Bainbridge --- A homicide investigation launched after a human skull was found in the yard of a south Georgia home is now closed. It was all the result of a prank.

Investigators say three teenagers placed the skull in a Bainbridge yard after they found it in an old wooden casket that was broken in half in a cemetery on College Street.

A man doing yard work found the skull Monday morning. GBI crime scene technicians responded and Bainbridge Police began going through missing person reports.

The three juveniles admitted what they did and will now face misdemeanor charges.
