Valdosta - An airman from Moody Air Force Base was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Staff Sergeant Charles Long was driving his Harley Davidson on Beggs Road in West Orlando around 3:00 AM Sunday.

He lost control, overturned and hit his head on a telephone pole.  He was brought to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he died Monday.

Long was a military dog handler with the 820th Security Forces Group at Moody Air Force Base.

No memorial has yet been planned.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
