Bake sale benefits Special Olympians

September 1, 2007

Albany -- Some Special Olympians here in Albany are in need of new uniforms, and your sweet tooth could help them get their new threads.

Employees at Harvest Moon are holding Saturday morning bake sales in hopes of raising money for new uniforms.

While the bad weather hampered their efforts today, they're encouraging you to come out next Saturday to buy some baked goods to support the local Special Olympics.

"The Dougherty County Special Olympians are having hard time raising money for their uniforms. We were talking to our dishwasher, Billy, and we were trying to figure out something we could do to help them out. We figured that a bake sale would be the way to do it," said Harvest Moon Manager Billy Mann.

The bake sales will be held every Saturday from 8 Am to 12 PM in front of Harvest Moon. The Special Olympic games are scheduled for mid-October.
