Albany - Sherwood Christian head coach Rock Knapp believes his first season at Sherwood Christian could be a breakthrough season for the Eagles program.
Knapp takes over a Sherwood Christian program that has just two wins in the last two seasons and has less than two dozen players on the roster.
The Eagles will be led by senior fullback-linebacker Gerry Smith, lineman Josh Dorminey and tight end Wayne Rich.
Sherwood Christian may not be big with numbers for coach Knapp says the atttitude is there.
The team had 100 percent participation in their summer program and the coach believes that will lead to wins this year.
Rock Knapp said "I just think that pays off especially at this level. The kids have gotten stronger. they have gotten faster and they believe which is probably something new on campus."
Sherwood Christian opens the season at Terrell Academy on Friday night.
