Americus-  South Georgia will get in on some of the 2008 Presidential campaign buzz when Democratic Candidate John Edwards visits Americus Wednesday.

Georgia Southwestern State University will host a convocation featuring the former North Carolina Senator. Edwards is expected to speak to the campus and community and then answer questions from the audience. Seating will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the program starts at 12:00 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. President Jimmy Carter is also expected to be at the event.
