Americus -- The Americus Sumter football team paid its dues last season, and brings back a wealth of experience this year.
The Panthers returning thirty seniors, including the entire offensive line.
Americus improved at the end of the year in 2006, winning 2 of their last 3 regular season games, and finished above .500 in the region.
Head coach Mark Wilson is back for his second season with the Panthers, and says the defense will be strong, but experience is the biggest strength on this team.
"Last year going into the season we probably only had two guys with any experience," says Wilson. "This year, when you have kids that played a lot, with varsity experience, that really helps."
The Panthers open up the season at home against Forest Park.
