Macon - Former Atlanta Hawk center and Crisp County Cougar Wayne "Tree" Rollins has been elected to the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
Rollins is one of seven new members who will be enshrined next spring.
A first round draft pick of the Atlanta Hawks in 1977, Tree Rollins played 18 seasons in the NBA and is waiting to hear if he will be named permanent head coach of the Washington Mystics of the WNBA.
Other members of the class selected Monday included NFL greats Richard Dent and Earnest Byner, pro golfer Jim Dent, former Detroit Tigers announcer Ernie Harwell, former NBA player Elmore Smith, former Georgia football player Herb St. Johns and former high school coaching greats Norman Carter and L.C. Baker.
