Macon -- U.S. Attorney Maxwell Wood announced in a press release late Friday afternoon that Judge Louis Sands of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia sentenced Harold Clinton Lasseter to 342 months in prison for attempting to buy kiddie porn.
Lasseter, the 53-year-old ex-pastor of the Shellman Methodist Church, plead guilty on June 4th.
Wood says that Lasseter tried to buy child porn on a fake website that actually set up as a sting by the United States Postal Inspection Service and the North Carolina Bureau of Investigation.
The U.S. attorney said in the release that Lasseter ordered two child pornography movies advertised on the website, and then mailed a $71.00 money order to the address listed on the website.
Lasseter also mailed a script for a movie he wanted to have custom produced. Lasseter called for a ten or eleven year old girl be filmed engaging in sexually explicit conduct with an adult male acting as the child's father. Lasseter wanted the movies sent to a mailbox in Albany.
There is no parole in the Federal prison system, so Lasseter would be in his eighties when he gets out of prison.
