Albany --Soon patients in South Georgia will be able to see county health care providers sooner. Starting in September, you can call and set an appointment for that same day.
Southwest Public Health officials are encouraging people to call between the hours of eight and nine in the morning.
"We are going to start this slow. It may look a little different in each county," said Southwest Georgia Health District Deputy Director, Brenda Greene. "In some counties you may be able to get every service done that day . In others they may only have this for certain programs."
This new program will start on Tuesday September the fourth.
Patients that still need to make appointments in advance will still be able to do so.
