Radium Springs residents were out of power

August 23, 2007

Dougherty County -- Some people in South Dougherty County were without power Thursday afternoon after a tractor trailer crash.

The wreck happened along the 5000 block of Radium Springs Road.

The truck driver was headed north when he lost control on the narrow road, hit some trees and almost hit power lines.

Georgia Power shut off electricity while crews removed the truck.

The driver suffered cuts and bruises.

Ahead of heavy rain showers and winds projected for our area, the Georgia State Patrol said there's not as many travelers on the roads during this holiday weekend.  "So far I think this attributed to the weather and gas prices being so high, it seems that in our area of the state, traffic has been down some," said Trooper Christopher Jewell, GSP Post 40.
