Albany  --  Albany Mayor Pro Tem Tommie Postell made it official Thursday-- he's running for re-election. The Ward 6 commissioner says he's proud of an engineering project by the city to help eliminate flooding in South Albany, and hopes his first term as commissioner won't be his last.

"If I'm reelected, I will continue to serve to the greatest of my ability, sponsoring and representing ward 6 in the city of Albany," Postell said.

Two other city commission seats are up for election. Ward 1 commissioner Jon Howard is expected to announce he's running for another term in office. Ward 4 Commissioner Bo Dorough is stepping down to run against Willie Adams for mayor.

So far, there's only one announced candidate for his seat-- Darton professor Roger Marietta.
