Houston, Tx. - NBA basketball player Eddie Griffin was killed last week in a fiery crash in Houston, Texas.
Investigators had to use dental records to identify the 25-year old Griffin whose sports utility vehicle ran into a moving train in Houston Friday morning.
Eddie Griffin had battled alchohol problems since he was the seventh overall pick in the 2001 NBA draft.
He played for the Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves who waived him in March.
Eddie Griffin was the national player of the year in high school in Philadelphia.
Eddie Griffin has relatives who live in Albany.
