Albany - Ready or not the season will start Saturday night for the Albany State Rams.
The Rams need to be ready because they face a tough opener Saturday night against North Carolina Central.
The Eagles have been to the NCAA Division II playoffs the last two years but this year move up to Division I.
The Rams don't care if they are playing a higher division team.
They are just ready to hit someone who is not a teammate.
Junior linebacker Rod Cummings said "Glad to be here. The sun has been hot. We are ready to play now.
Head coach Mike White said "We are excited and ready to see and hit somebody besides ourselves. We still have got a way to go."
Albany State hosts North Carolina Central Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at the Albany Municipal Coliseum.
