Albany - - Traffic cameras were installed a year ago to catch red light runners in Downtown Albany, but not a single ticket has been written so far.

The cameras went up at the intersection of Pine and Jefferson last August. City engineers predicted they'd be up and running in January, but several modifications had to be made.

Then city leaders predicted they'd be ready to go in March. Now, Michelle Demott with Albany Safe Communities says the goal is next month.

She says the city is re-evaluating the system right now. Once it finally gets going, people caught on camera running the red light will have to pay a $70 fine.
