Valdosta - As more people develop land in Valdosta, leaders are working to update of the City's Land Development Regulations.
They say many of the regulations haven't been changed since they were first established nearly 50 years ago.
The new plan will include everything from bike and pedestrian paths to mixed use developments.
They hope the updates will help the City's overall vision for quality growth and development and will attract new businesses in the area. "When those companies come to Valdosta, they'll see that we truly are a progressive community that is ahead of the game and really a leader for the South Georgia region," says Anne-Marie Wolff, Planning and Zoning Administrator for the City of Valdosta.
They'll have a meeting Monday August 20 at 6:00 PM at the City Hall Annex to get input from the community.
They expect the update process to take about 17 months.
