Albany--  Other than air-conditioner problems and registration issues, the Dougherty County School Superintendent says the school year is off to a great start.

Dr. Sally Whatley gave her superintendent's update Monday night. She says right now 15,666 students are enrolled in the system. That's an increase from last year, but the official head count won't be available until October.

Whatley also reported the projected graduation rate for 2007.  Right now it stands at just 60-percent. That includes those students who went to summer school.

The official graduation rated will be calculated by the Georgia Department of Education and released in October.
