Tift County counting on a BIG season

August 13, 2007

Tifton -- After winning the region title and playing in the Georgia Dome in 2006, the Tift County Blue Devils know they'll have a bulls eye on their back this season.

The Blue Devils will have some holes to fill, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

All-state wide receiver Israel Troupe is catching passes in Sanford Stadium at the University of Georgia, and the Blue Devils also must replace their starting quarterback.

Tift County does have talented running back Kareem Hess returning.

Opening running lanes for Hess are three returning lineman, led by 6-foot-3, 300 pound Zack Allen, and 6-foot-5, 350 pound Anthony Bryant.

"We got three returning starters back," says Walls. "Zack Allen, Anthony Bryant, and Tom Roberson. All three of them are really, really good players. Zack is a Division I prospect at offensive tackle."

Tift County Opens the season August 31st on the road at Brooks County.
