Albany - Darton College golf coach Dale Dover invited in his incoming freshman class to watch last year's national championship ring ceremony last summer.
Dover's message to his new players was next year this could be you.
Thursday night was the night those Cavalier freshement new players along with the returning squad picked up their national championship rings after Darton won a third consecutive national junior college title.
Bill Jones III was presented with the Arnold Palmer award for being named the national junior college player of the year.
Coach Dale Dover won his third straight national coach of the year honor.
It may be the the third title for the school but it is the first to these players.
Bill Jones III said "This one is more personal for me because I didn't play last year. To do it three years in a row no matter how you actually played on is an amazing accomplishment.
Chesely Gunn said "Last year I was just thinking how nervous I was because we had all that pressure on us. They had already won two and everybody thought it was just the same people. We came back this year and won the third with different folks.
Dale Dover said "They worked together and gelled at the end of the year. We had another great season."
Over the last three years, Darton's golf team has won 26 tournament titles and had 13 players earn National Junior College All-American honors.
