Ben Hill County-- Four teens were in a pickup truck that ran off Sturgeon Creek Road and crashed into a tree a little before 11 o'clock Wednesday morning.

18-year-old Jimmy Cotterman died at the scene. 17-year-old Brandy Hutchinson is in critical condition at a Macon hospital. 18-year-old Robert Brackson was also transferred from Fitzgerald to Macon.

It took emergency crews two hours to cut them out of the truck.

The driver, 18-year-old Joseph Adam Vaughn, walked nearly a mile to a house to get help. He told officers he had been drinking and is now charged with D.U.I. and reckless driving.

Other charges are pending as the state patrol specialized reconstruction team investigates. Vaughn is at Tift Regional Hospital.
