Valdosta - A Valdosta Priest was killed in a car crash Thursday night.
61-year-old Father John O'Brien worked at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Valdosta for 12-years.
He was currently serving at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Columbia County.
Investigators say O'Brien left a restaurant in Evans Thursday night to respond to an alarm at the church.
On his way back, he missed a turn and pulled his Buick Lucerne into the Ace hardware on Washington Road.
As he pulled back onto the road, he was hit by a Ford truck driven by 44 year-old Gregory Earl of Evans.
Both were taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital where O'Brien later died.
