Valdosta - A Valdosta chemical plant will shut down, putting 76-people out of work.
Officials with Arizona Chemical say the plant, which produces resin for the ink and coating industries, will close its doors at the end of next year.
The Jacksonville-based company plans to provide transfer opportunities and outplacement assistance for the workers.
They say the Valdosta plant, which was built in 1938, offered no opportunity for growth and could no longer produce products competitively.
All the products will be transferred to a plant in Savannah.
