Small plane crashes in Sumter County

Sumter County --  Authorities indicate that a Piper Cub, a small propeller-driven airplane, has crashed near Neil Hodges Road in rural Sumter County.

The small plane crashed at a small private landing strip.

Reports from the scene are that there were two people aboard the plane and that both survived. The two people aboard have now been taken to a nearby hospital.

Rescuers had difficulty freeing one person from the wreckage.
