Albany - The countdown to the start of the 2007 high school football season has started.
Georgia Indepdendent School Association schools were on the practice field for the first time on Monday.
The Deerfield-Windsor Knights were among the GISA teams on the field.
The Knights will hold a week of conditioning before the full pads go on next week.
Deerfield-Windsor head coach Allen Lowe says that most of his players are already in shape after the hard work they put in the team's summer program.
Coach Lowe says it is always good to see the full squad on the field at the same time.
Allen Lowe said "It is exciting. We are thankful to be out here. The kids have got a great attitude. The first day is just fun. It is like starting all over again."
The Deerfield-Windsor Knights open the season on August 31st at George Walton.
