Albany -- Subway, the black lab, is still at the Albany Humane Society and is ready for a new home.

Lots of calls came in for the pup when she first got to the shelter, but she had to be held for a week to give time for an owner to claim her.

Subway was the young pup that got caught in a storm drain last week. A Dougherty County Public works crew lured her out with Subway sandwich.

"She appears to be a lab, lab mix. A lot of energy very playful. Of course she is still very young, only 3 to 4 months now," said Executive Director of the Albany Humane Society, Donna Strickland. "She is going to need a lot of training and a lot of exercise, but would be a wonderful companion"

She will go home with the next available, qualified person who is willing to adopt her.

Since she has gotten to the shelter, 173 other dogs have also entered the Humane Society. So there are plenty of other dogs who also need homes as well.
