Albany --  Two sisters were attacked in a possible gang incident in downtown Albany Tuesday night.

Twenty-two-year-old Quiawana Grant and 23-year-old Virginia Randall told police someone threw something at their car in the 600 block of North Madison Street.

The women said when they stopped to see if the car was damaged, several men and women attacked them and stole their cell phone.

The sisters say their assailants were shouting "C.M.E." which is the name of one of Albany's many street gangs.

Police drove up during the attack, so the women weren't seriously injured, but all the attackers ran and escaped.
