Vandals strike Albany warehouse

July 21, 2007

Albany -- An Albany businessman says he's been a target by vandals and thieves several times.

To his dismay, they hit again this morning.

It happened sometime in the early morning hours at the T&S Tire warehouse on Baldwin Drive.

The business was ransacked and a cash register was stolen.

But the crimes didn't stop there. Someone used a forklift to destroy a Chevrolet pickup at the warehouse. Angry employees say they are tired of the ongoing crimes, none of which they say have been solved.

"I'm fed up with it. I'm through with it. If they (the police) are not going to doing anything we're going to put a watch on this building ourselves, and catch them ourselves.

Bivins said this is at least the tenth time in 2 years the warehouse has been robbed or vandalized. APD is handling the investigation. A reward is being offered in the case.
