Albany- The South Georgia Wildcats play their last home game of the season Saturday night but it's possible they'll end up hosting a home game in the playoffs which would be great news for the team and the town. Fan Appreciation Night Saturday kicks off with a concert before and after the Wildcats game at the Riverfront Amphitheater. The concert begins at 4:30. Depending on how the team finishes the season, they could get as many as two home playoff games.
"It's different than the other eight regular season games that we play, it's a playoff game, it's the win or go home type of atmosphere, but away from football it will be good for the local economy just to bring another team in here, and have another game at the Civic Center, another event downtown, and all that," said Darren McPhail, South Georgia Wildcats General Manager.
Ticket sales for the Wildcat games have steadily improved throughout the season along with the teams record. Fans who purchase season tickets now for 2008, will get seats for the first playoff game this season free along with a team autographed football.
