Wildcats back up quarterback helping out at other positions

July 17, 2007

Albany - It has been a record breaking year for South Georgia Wildcats quarterback D. Bryant.

Who in 14 games has already thrown for almost four-thousand yards and 85 touchdown passes.

The man who backs up D. Bryant is former Dooly High quarterback Cecil Lester.

This is Lester's fourth season of indoor football and most of it has been spent on the bench.

He did make a couple of starts last year in Macon but has thrown just one pass this season.

That is fine with Cecil who just wants to do what he can to help the team win.

Lester demonstrates that by also playing receiver and on special teams.

Cecil Lester said "Every day when we come to practice, I practice to prepare myself that if something may happen then I will be ready. So, I go into a game with a mindset of if something happens then I will be ready to keep the team moving."

South Georgia Wildcats play their final regular season home game Saturday against Alabama.

A Wildcats win combined with Bossier Shreveport loss at Wilkes-Barre and an Arkansas loss at Oklahoma City would clinch a first round play game at home for South Georgia.
