Albany - Albany's Alexander Johnson is a very popular power forward among NBA teams after the Memphis Grizzlies waived the former Dougherty High star over the weekend.
The Grizzlies have a new general manager and head coach but the new regime said earlier this summer that Alexander Johnson was part of the future in Memphis.
That changed when the Grizzlies signed 7'0" Darko Milicic late last week.
Milicic is a four year NBA veteran who can played center and power forward.
While Alexander Johnson may not be in Memphis' future, several NBA teams believe the former Florida State Seminole has a future with them.
Johnson is scheduled to meet with the executives of the Milwaukee Bucks Tuesday in Milwaukee.
A source close to Johnson says that at last a half of dozen other NBA teams have also been in contact with Alexander Johnson's agent.
Johnson though cannot sign with any teams other than Boston until he clears waivers at 6:00 p.m. this Friday.
