Albany --Three Albany men went on trial in Dougherty County Courts Monday, one for murder and two for rape.

Prosecutors say 32 year old Reginald Cooper stabbed a man 19 times with a pocket knife, killing him. Cooper is charged with murder and aggravated assault.

Investigators say Cooper killed 31 year old Kevin Lindsey during a fight May 13, 2005 on South McKinley Street, repeatedly stabbing him. Cooper will get life in prison if convicted.

21 year old Santario Sheard is charged with rape, assault, and sexual battery. Prosecutors say he beat and raped the mother of his child in March 2006.

And a jury was selected in the trial for 49 year old Lawrence Brown, who is charged with rape, aggravated assault, and burglary.

Prosecutors say he broke into the home of a South Albany woman in May, 2006, and raped her at knife point. Testimony in his trial is to begin Tuesday.
