Ready to swing on the golf course

July 12, 2007

Albany - The game of golf is said by some to be addictive.

Because once you pick up a club it is hard to put one down.

That is what about 20 local youngsters are finding out this week at the ninth annual Hook-A-Kid on Golf Clinic.

Flint River Gold Course pro Roy Snead is not only teaching the beginners on the finer points of the golf swing but also the rules of the game as well as lectures on proper hygiene and conditioning.

The program, sponsored by the Albany Parks and Recreation and the United States Golf Association, is working with all of these campers saying they want to keep playing the game.

Angelina DeGuzman said " I want to play golf a lot because it is really fun and it helps me concentrate."

Makena Boyd said"we got to use the driver. Which is my favorite one because I can probably hit it the ball the farthest with the driver."

The Hook-a-Kid Golf Clinic will conclude Friday at the Flint River Golf Course.
